David Gareja Monastery Complex

Visit Davit Gareja cave complex (6th c.) located on the border of Christian Georgia and Muslim Azerbaijan. The monastery exerted significant influence in Georgia, being a center of fresco painting and manuscript rewriting. You will visit wonderful painted caves and see dramatic views.

Ladies require scarves in the Georgian orthodox churches, sometimes skirts too, but they can find some in the entrances.

Short trousers are forbidden in the church.

You can bring along: sun cream, hat, rain - and wind coats, etc.

Comfortable shoes are needed.
